Create it on a Mac and play it back everywhere. Using iLife you are able to view it anywhere, even on a PC.

iPhoto -

Work with digital photos. Can be from a camera or imported from the web.
Full screen modes
Faces and Places
New books, cards, calendars
Slideshows
Emailing photos - custom stationary
Facebook albums
Events - when importing from camera the mac will automatically cluster them into events. Click on the bottom title and change the title to the event
Can split events and merge events. Command click on both events and then go to events tab on toolbar and combine events. Opposite to split events.
Create new events - command, select and choose new events
Full Screen - click arrows on top right to full screen. Escape to get out.
Search - bottom left
- click and choose by date, place, etc
- put in camera name and get photos by that camera. When click on picture and then info, it will tell you which camera you used, etc.
Grab events or picture and click on it and drop it on the left under albums
Support for full screen editing - bottom left hand corner.
Edit - click edit pen on the bottom to edit pictures.
Keyphoto - 1st photo in event album. To do this, pass over it and hit the spacebar to make it the keyphoto.
Creating books - then click on create in bottom right corner to create book.
- Choose cover
- Choose number of pages
- Each page is a well
- Can bring up photos and drag and drop to fill well.
- double click on picture to reposition it within well and edit it.
- about $30 for a book
- Click on the bottom to buy book
- Can also print out the book on your own - create option if you have nice printing capability
- Save as a PDF and take it to staples to have it printed
Faces technology - organized alphabetically
- Choose a picture and then click on info button on bottom.
- It will select just the face and use age progression so it will be able to tell who a person is over years.
- facial detection
- Put in the names
- Click on Faces and these names will be added to the corkboard.
- Click on their picture and on the bottom and it will show you possibilities of other pictures with him in it.
- The more you use this the better it will be.
- Add more pictures to help computer accurately find faces.
- Great way to make albums
- Click on their corkboard name with all their pictures and click, drag and drop onto Albums on left side. If you add more pictures on your computers then it will automatically update albums with pictures in the smart albums.
- Bottom right, click confirm additional faces. Can hit ctrl and click on bottom of photo and name them.
- Take faces and drag onto albums to make an album about a person.
- Can burn a DVD under sahre to make album for a group of person.
Editing Tools
- Retouch - adjust brush by clicking on retouch
  - Click on brush and then on scrap or what needs to be retouched.
  - Drag over area that looks good before you go over the area that needs to be retouched.
- Enhance - When click this it will adjust brightness, color and contrast
- Fix Red-eye- instantly scan pictures and fix red-eye
  - Shift key will go back and forth between fixed and no fixed
  - Will do multiple people in a photo
- Press 0 to zoom out, 1 to zoom in, 2 to zoom in more
Places
- It will find where the person was standing when they took the picture if they are using a camera that is GPS enabled.
- Geo-tags pictures to show where you were when you took the picture.
- Will show you precisely where you were standing
- When click on it a map will show up
- Can click on that and all pictures taken at that site will appear.
- iPhone has a GPS controller and camera
- Flicker - do advanced search for photos that have GPS in them.
- Choose country, State, City, place and all photos taken from there will show up.
Building an Album
- Click on event or picture and drag it onto the Albums on the left side.

iMovie -

Can add music from anywhere and add transitions
Movie Trailers - can add actors and a storyboard.

Toolbar will update depending on what you are doing
Click plus in bottom right corner to start a new one
Click Movie Trailers to put in credits and actor names in movie
Choose theme for project
Choose event
Click video and then you can click on the picture of the video and if you click and drag across it you can grab just a few seconds of the video. This saves time splicing and slicing.
Drag it down to timeline
Click and rearrange
Add as many as you want
Command 6 on keyboard will play it back full screen
transition
- Click on transition and drag it in between segments. They are half a second each.
- Click on precision editor which is the line between the video clips and make it as long or short as you want
- Audio wave form - can change the volume of a person speaking during transition
double click on a video clip and then adjust white balance, reverse motion, slow motion, video effects, etc.
Use Edit paste adjustments to add all of the changes you made to an additional clip.
Voice over -
- Click on microphone and position cursor and click on record and it will drop voice over directly where you want it by positioning cursor over the top of the frame that you want
Green Screen - specific color green. chromakeygreen. Get it from home depot. Go to fabric store or a paint store to paint a backdrop, etc
- Click and drag frames down to the bottom
- Take a video of someone standing in front of a green screen and then click, drag, and drop it this video clip on top of the other video that you had.
- You will be asked to lay on top, etc.
- click on crop to crop out background from foreground if needed
- Click on advanced Tools under General. Make sure this is on so green screen is enabled.
- Squiggly mark in red on bottom of video. This means whoever was holding camera was moving.
  - Click on inspector and it will stabilize it.
  - iMovie will automatically stabilize movies imported in here

Garage Band -

all instruments sampled from the real thing
import live instruments through mac
supports 64 tracks

Print music paper and score sheets to recreate piece made on Garage Band
Flex Time - adjust timing on a particular piece
Groove Matching - take any one track and set it as the master groove and the other grooves will speed up with it.

"how did I play" - tutor watching over your shoulder and it will be highlighted where you need to improve.
Can purchase lessons. 10 famous people. Can download lesson from Sting, etc. There is a play along with Sting feature.
Click on different loops and drag to tracks
Mac will automatically choose options for you that will sound nice with what you have already chosen.
Click and drag with option key down will duplicate the keys
Go to Track, master track to raise and lower volume. Click on line on the bottom to do this.
Click on Share, send to playlist, put it in folder. Combines all instruments into one song.
Will be able to choose the album and songs that you made when you create a slideshow.

Get content out to the world so parents can view it.
Take all content and build a website with all of your photos, maps, documents, etc.

Mac Finder Tricks:

Select file and hit space bar to preview doc. Use command to select several files.
Search window in top right corner
Labels - right click any file in finder and there is a label option. Enables you to add color to the name of the file or folder. Can arrange by label or search by label.
Left side of screen use Favorites for shortcut presets.
Customize Toolbar - right click and choose customize.
Smart Folders - special kind of folder that don't contain files but instead contain the results of saved searches. File, New Smart Folder.
Folders - Right click any folder and click New Folder and then drag files in there.
